This blog hop includes ten questions to help you learn more about an author’s current work in progress, so here’s a little info. about my current project:
1: What is the working title of your book?
The Pharaoh and the Curator: A Paranormal Erotic Tale
2: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Straight-laced museum curator Michelle Beaumont finds herself in Egypt where she contributes to god Amon Ra's resurrection; his burning heat soon has her throwing caution to the desert winds, but a hidden danger threatens both of their souls.
3: Where did the idea come from for the book?
My hubby's an engineer and enjoys shows about buildings and construction. I often join him on the couch because it means good snuggle time. We were watching a documentary on PBS about Egyptian obelisks-- one of us, I can't remember which now, said something along the lines of, "It's pretty much a giant phallus." Thus, an erotica took shape in my brain.
4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Gwyneth Paltrow would be smart, sophisticated Michelle Beaumont. Hunky, smoldering-eyed Oded Fehr (you may know him best from The Mummy, and more recently Resident Evil) would be resurrected Egyptian god Amon Ra.
5: What genre does your book fall under?
Paranormal Romance/Erotica
6: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
It's still a work in progress; it takes me about a month to complete a short story.
7: Who or what inspired you to write this book?
I'm a huge fan of the paranormal romance genre. The imagination involved in these types of stories is captivating. I can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon than reading about a vampire, werewolf, or a smexy Egyptian god. I try to write a story that I would want to read.
8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
The Pharaoh and the Curator has a similar spirit to Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. My hero hails from thousands of years of mythology, and my heroine is no shrinking violet; she's ready to stand up and fight for her man.
9: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Aside from the facts it's a steamy erotica featuring a seductive Egyptian god made flesh?
10: Where can we find you? How do we follow when your book is coming out?
In addition to my author website and Facebook page, my books can be found on Amazon. I'm also quickly becoming addicted to Twitter.
There are a handful of authors I would love to introduce you to (or you may already know them!)
I was tagged by the snarky and riveting D.B. Sieders. Check out her blog for details about her soon to be released mermaid romance, This is Home (A Nixies in Dixie Novel), a tale that also features a completely yummy rock star hero.
I'm also pleased to present fellow Scribophiles Dawn Pendleton, contemporary romance author, and DA Owen, science fiction and fantasy author. They will be next week’s blog hoppers starting on February 14th.
